Because I’m excited to get started, and it’s my birthday, Foil & Phaser will begin regular posting on Monday June 10th. We already have a great selection of authors ready to share with you, but we still need more. If you’re interested in writing for the blog, check out the site guidelines to see how to apply.
Some people have said they are interested but don’t have the time to commit to being a regular contributor. For them, I am creating a new membership level – Guest Writer. Simply email your post to me and I will format and publish it for you. You will receive all the benefits, without all the hassle and commitment.
I will also reblog content from a WordPress blog, as long as you are a member of the Sword & Laser Goodreads group as well. Just send me links to the particular post and your Goodreads profile to foilandphaser@gmail.com and use the subject line “Reblog”. We will also follow your blog and share any posts that we like. If your blog is on another service, we can post a link to it.
Now Accepting Guest Writers
Any person may submit an original work of fiction, a review, an interview, or essay for display on the website. Such submissions are made with the intent of inviting constructive criticism of the work from the public. We ask all of or members to be fair and open-minded when responding. Those wishing to post must submit a request by email to foilandphaser@gmail.com using the following guidelines:
- The subject line should read “Guest Writer”
and in the body of your email, or in an attachment, please include the following [All of the following information about you may be published except for your real name, email, and age]:
- Your real name: [This will not be published.]
- Your age: [This will not be published. You must be at least 13 years old.]
- Your pen name: [The name you wish to be referred to publicly. If you use your real name, put that here.]
- Your country of residence: [or if you wish, city, state, province as well. We do not need your exact address.]
- A brief (<50 words) description of who you are and your writing experience.
- Your webliography: [Links to you Goodreads profile, books you have written, a personal website, blog, or social media accounts. These will be added to the end of the post.]
- A JPG or PNG photo relating to the post. [This is optional.]
Any attachments must be in plain text or RTF formats. Preference will be given to those who are members of the Sword & Laser group on Goodreads and are active on the forums there, or have contributed to this site. All other factors being equal, priority will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Please note that we do not pay for such submissions, and publishing them here may make the piece ineligible for future sales. Please see the Terms of Use for important notices about property rights. It is assumed that you are the original author of the work and have the legal right to publish it.
