In case you missed it , Foil & Phaser has begun a series of writers workshops, aimed at improving writing skills through peer criticism. We’ve more than passed the minimum number of participants for both our Writers Workshop and the Serial Collaboration, but there is still time for you to join.
In the Writers Workshop we will be sharing stories with our peers and asking for their honest and frank appraisals. No experience is necessary, only enthusiasm and a love of the written word. You can find more details in this post. Please apply by Saturday, July 6th, 2013 to get in on the first round.
In the Serial Collaboration, each member will be writing a section of a story. This can be an incredibly fun exercise as you never know where another writer will take the storyline. Again, no experience necessary, we will help with editing suggestions. More information can be found here. Deadline to apply for the first collaboration is Saturday, July 6th, 2013.
And don’t forget, there is a weekly writing challenge, One Page at a Time, where you send in the next two to three hundred words of a story. Each week, we’ll select our favourite entry and publish it. You can find the latest page here. Also Dead Story Day where we post an unfinished story so that you can pick up where someone else left off.
Thanks to everyone who has submitted and signed up. We’ll be starting the discussions on the Writers Workshop and Collaboration on Wednesday, July 10th, 2013.
